Healthcare policy cash benefits

Tailoring your policy could not be simpler than selecting from four optional extras. Each extra comes in the form of a generous cash benefit policy to support you for any additional costs that may arise in some circumstances. You can add optional extras to your policy when you renew your policy and cover is available to age 74*.
You can include your family - even if they are not covered by your main policy - provided you have opted for that benefit yourself.

Major Dental Cash Benefit

This plan provides you with generous cash benefits if you have to undergo major dental work, whether NHS or private. Major work includes new crowns and bridges, as well as treatment following dental injuries. It is already included in Primecare Plus and Primecare Gold but can be added to our other Primecare range and Choices policies.

Personal Accident Benefit

This plan pays out a lump sum of up to £100,000 if you are involved in an accident that causes permanent injury, disability or death. You or your family might need it to pay for your convalescence, or if your earning power is reduced, to supplement your future income. It could be vital if you need to make practical changes to your home. You can use the money as you wish.

Critical Illness cover

The ideal peace of mind policy if you are worried about the financial effects of a serious illness. For just £5 per month, it pays out a £5,000 tax-free lump sum 30 days after diagnosis, to offset the blow of losing your income while you are ill. More than 20 conditions are covered, including heart attack, stroke, cancer, loss of hearing and kidney failure. For £10 a month, you can double the lump sum payable to £10,000.

Hospital Cash Benefit

Receive a generous cash sum for each night you have to stay in hospital, regardless of whether you are being treated privately or on the NHS. This is an ideal benefit if you are self-employed and going into hospital means your income stops, or if you need to pay for help at home after a hospital stay. The cash payment doubles if you have to go into hospital for a serious condition such as heart attack or cancer.

*Critical Illness Cover is not available for children and only available to policyholders under the age of 50.
